I drove 45 plus kilometers from Sangre Grande to check this restaurant out and I must say that it was worth it. Amazing food, great staff and exceptional ambience. Definitely somewhere that I would recommend! PS I’m still munching on the cheesecake that I got there 3 hours later…

I decided to try this restaurant for Restaurant Week. I wasn’t sure what to expect, however, at the end of dinner I was highly impressed. The waiter that served my table was very sociable and fully capable of answering any questions with respect to any items on the menu. The waiting time between courses was minimal and the food was rich and full of flavour. Bal-Tar-Zzar is now my new favourite Thai Restaurant (and they offer many other styles of food) and I will definitely be returning to this wonderful establishment many times in the future and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

When I travel abroad I would usually include a Thai Meal. Could be from a take away place in Copenhagen for 10Kroner or along 9th Avenue in New York City after the theatre. But where do I find Thai Food in Trinidad when I have cravings. Found it. I was really impressed with the flavour profile of the dishes and the visual presentation of the meal. Looked like alot of care was taken in preparing my meal. I went with my friend and together we shared the Shrimp Pad Thai. The portion was very generous and tasted excellent. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. I ordered the Chicken Massaman Curry and my friend the Beef Panang Curry, each serviced with a portion of Jasmine Rice, Veggies and pretty bowl containing the curry. The curry itself has great consistency and flavour and you could see all the ingredients that contributed to the flavours therein, including the lime leaf and other unique spices. We ended the meal with the Fried Ice Cream. So overall great Thai meal, excellent wait staff and comfortable dining room with lots of easy parking. Well worth my trip to Couva. Cant wait to come back. Thank you Bal, was lovely meeting you and sharing in your passion for food.
